Message from our CEO of Asset Management

Our asset management activities are focused on two areas, namely institutional and private client investments.

In institutional asset management, we manage a significant portfolio of property investments in Germany, which has enabled us to develop a deep expertise and understanding of European real estate. Through St. Peter Port Capital we also provide funding to pre-IPO companies as part of the Group’s commitment to helping businesses develop into significant enterprises.

For private clients, we offer a range of tax-efficient investments with a proven track record of delivering on our objectives. Since the launch of the first Puma fund in 1996, we have been driven by two guiding investment principles:

  • Protecting capital
  • Minimising risk

We never forget that it is the investors' money with which we have been entrusted. It is these principles which have resulted in Puma VCT plc and Puma VCT II plc being the only 'planned-exit' VCTs, to date, to have reached the milestone of returning over 100p per share in dividends to investors.

Over £180 million has been raised for Puma Investments since 2005 and, more importantly, over £70 million has been paid in dividends to shareholders. Our Enterprise Investment Schemes and Inheritance Tax Solutions also take advantage of the generous tax reliefs on offer, but which also hold true to the same investment principles.

Taken together, Shore Capital asset management activities ensure it can achieve its objectives of offering relationship merchant banking services to businesses of all sizes whilst creating a range of high quality investment opportunities for institutions and private clients alike.

Details on all the areas of our business can be found here, but if you have any queries, please feel free to contact us on 0207 408 4050.
